Definitely Spam?
Lately I’ve been getting strange subjects in my email (I use GMail; yes, I know my privacy goes down the tubes, I’m switching over in the near future). Anyway, a lot of subjects have had {Definitely Spam?} and {Disarmed} at the start of the title. Normally this was in Spam and/or Group emails, but lately any email I get from Lisa has {Definitely Spam?} in front of it; and I get the feeling she didn’t do that.
Are these GMail tags that are accidentally visible? Anyone else having this issue?
[Edit on 1/26] Apparently this is something that my zaissofspades.com mail accounts are adding to my email before the get passed along to my GMail account. Why my zaissofspades accounts think that Lisa = spam… I don’t know. But sometimes I think that too. ![]()
I get tons of these emails and on a daily basis. Fortunately, they go to my Outlook Junk mail folder. Unfortunately, I have to keep checking my junk email to make sure valid emails are not in the Junk mail too.
It is a marketing ploy because, although the subject has {Definitely Spam?}, the body of the email is in fact spam.

Actually, I think that the {Definitely Spam?} is inserted in the subject line by my ISP’s anti spam software.

{Definitely Spam?} seems to be an interaction between the mailing list software and the GMail account. I’ve seen this happen with other people on a mailing list, and then it’s begun with my GMail account when I post to the list.
It’s only happening with the one mailing list, although obviously others are having issues with other mailing lists.
It’s only happening with people replying on GMail accounts.

This started with me at work about a month ago (coming through Exchange server) but no one else at work was seeing it. I, too, assumed it was all spam & sent it to the digital circular file. Last night it started with my private email (hosted with JumpDomain.com) and it was attached to spam AND valid emails, but only those coming through a yahoo! group list.
